A recent addition to the Austin music scene, David Colvin has spent the bulk of his career teaching and performing in the Western Ohio region. During his tenure in the Northern Ohio Area, Dave could be frequently heard at jazz venues in Toledo, Cleveland, Detroit, and Ann Arbor. Dave continued to build his performance resume by relocating to the Dayton/Cincinnati area in 1998. In Southwest Ohio, he had the opportunity to perform, tour, and record with: The Toledo Jazz Orchestra, The Dayton Jazz Orchestra, Cal Collins, The Jazz Central Big Band, Jeff Halsey, John Baily, Steve Schmidt, The Heartless Bastards, Josh Breakstone, Phil Degregg, The Garin Webb Quintet, Thee Shams, Mark Elf, and Eddie Daniels, Since moving to Austin, David has continued his work as a freelance jazz drummer, performing with the likes of Paul White, Pete Rodriguez, Kevin Ahart, Jeff Hellmer, John Fremgen, and Ron Westray.
